Celebrating a Successful Implementation of SDRM Phase 1

Objective

When confronted with the task of selecting a new record manager solution, Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) made a resolute decision to adopt Sunrise Digital Record Manager (SDRM), as it easily integrates with its existing Sunrise products. Hoping for an "all-in" solution, HSC aimed to achieve better organization within its documentation while providing users with effortless usability.

"Implementing Sunrise Digital Record Manager was good timing for us. The solution aligned perfectly with our wants and needs."

Solution

SDRM captures, classifies and stores unstructured content electronically, consolidating patient records. This means that both clinical and non-clinical staff have quick access to needed content, which simplifies chart completion. Workflow tools streamline information release. This comprehensive solution offers a single source for the complete medical record.

Hospital for Special Care went live on phase 1 of SDRM in March 2023. With some staff members saying that this is the best go-live they have ever been a part of, HFSC contributes its success to its relationship with Altera and, specifically, Altera's implementation team. "We had a fantastic implementation team and they really partnered with us so that it felt like 'one' team and voice," Erin Ives, Director of Applications, said.

The process of implementing SDRM gave staff at HFSC an opportunity to reframe and reset expectations and responsibilities regarding patient information. "It just made sense to go with SDRM and Altera instead of having a bolted-on application from another vendor that may not have been in alignment with our organization," said Lawler.
