The end of the year brings about time for reflection, and at Altera, we’re looking back on 2025 with a continued sense of relentless focus to bring our vision into reality. For us, helping organizations around the world achieve success is the only way we can say we’ve done our job. This looks like enabling clinicians with the right tools, empowering patients by supporting their technological journeys inside and outside of the office, and truly transforming healthcare organizations for the better. Let’s take a look at how we brought this vision to life throughout the year.
Enabling clinicians
We all know it: clinicians do far more than deliver patient care. In fact, their time is often consumed with so many other tasks that burnout is a major challenge. For organizations everywhere, keeping providers happy and engaged translates to better care, better patient experiences and healthier communities.
That time with the patient is so valuable and critical, perhaps more than ever before, as patients begin to be empowered with all manner of AI tools, from consumer tools like ChatGPT to “smart portals”. Patients have more access to care information than ever before, and they expect clinicians to really “hear and see” them.
In 2025, at Altera we began to deliver integrated AI tools that enable clinicians to focus more of their time on patient care by automating administrative tasks, providing real-time insights and simplifying workflows. By using AI and ambient listening like Sunrise™ Thread AI, Paragon® Denali and TouchWorks® Note+, our solutions will enable faster documentation and more time to connect with patients face-to-face.
This technology enables clinicians to reclaim time and engage in more deep and meaningful ways with their patients, both by making their health data more accessible and usable before and after the visit, and by enabling them to focus on connection during the visit. By equipping clinicians with the right tools, they can focus on delivering excellent patient care with far less cognitive burden.

Empowering patients
Patients today can feel overwhelmed and confused trying to navigate complex technology, rushed doctor’s visits and a frustrating inability for providers to have the “full picture” when they go from one health system to another.
We are proud of the strides we made in 2025 to Empower patients. For example, we introduced CarePath, for both Sunrise and Paragon, our patient portal that delivers information to patients seamlessly, right when they need it. With artificial intelligence coming to CarePath in the future, we can empower the patient to have a more responsive experience when engaging with their care team, including greater access to personalized insights. This goes beyond just accessing their health information. It inspires and encourages them to make informed decisions for their own health.
We are also excited for all the interoperability advancements we have made, between our CareInTelligence platform and Sunrise™ Axon. The solutions will enable far better sharing of data between disparate sources, including access to nationwide, secure data under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA). Further, we are using AI to summarize data inbound from these large-scale data sharing platforms, to transform large complex and comprehensive patient records into information that a provider can use in the limited time they have before a patient visit.
Transforming healthcare organizations
In 2025, we’re thrilled to have released Sunrise™ 25.1, a massive update for our clients including a long list of features and improvements. Within it, we see the immense potential for advancements like AI to enable extraordinary breakthroughs in medicine in the years to come.
We also recognize the critical, near-term potential for organizations to advance in their transformation journeys, on a path to more resilient, efficient and sustainable care.
We help transform the resilience of care organizations by using AI to dramatically improve the security and stability of our platforms. This “behind-the-scenes” work makes systems more responsive, optimizing and automating foundational processes to ensure care flows without interruption.
We are supporting the transformation of organizational health in our clients, with powerful revenue cycle automations, using technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and offerings such as Ventus Revenue Aware to help teams quickly identify and remediate complex rev cycle issues.
Ultimately, our goal is to help transform care organizations to be more efficient and sustainable. By doing so, we help them successfully make care accessible to more people and ensure they can continue to operate independently in a challenging landscape.
The journey ahead
