As I outlined in my previous blog,“The journey ahead starts now: Altera’s vision for the future of healthcare, at Altera, we’re redefining how we approach our role in the future of healthcare technology. Through our commitment to measure our success by our clients’ outcomes, we’re resolute on the idea that helping organizations around the world achieve better results is the only way we can say we’ve done our job. Now, I’d like to dive into the pillars of what this vision looks like, starting with the concept of enabling clinicians with the tools they need to achieve next-level healthcare.

In today’s unrelenting healthcare environment, clinicians are tasked with far more than delivering excellent patient care. In fact, their time is consumed with so many other tasks that burnout is a major challenge for organizations trying to keep their providers (and communities) happy and healthy. As multiple factors contribute to burnout, addressing it is not a one-size-fits-all solution. At Altera, we’re addressing clinician burnout through multiple avenues, which all support providing more time for clinicians to do the work they need to do.

A core component of our commitment is to enable clinicians to focus more of their time on patient care, which looks like automating administrative tasks, providing real-time insights and simplifying workflows. By using AI and ambient listening, our solutions will enable faster documentation and more time to connect with patients face-to-face. This technology supports our aim to ensure that clinicians get time back in their day, as well as become able to proactively manage patient care and connect with those patients more directly.

Additionally, at the point of care, we incorporate patient and population data insights to guide treatment plans and inform decision-making, all while our improved design reduces clicks, creating a more intuitive experience. Streamlining these workflows leads to more time, and more productivity for clinicians. By reducing the number of tasks that these providers are handling and equipping them with the right tools, clinicians can focus on delivering that excellent patient care with far less administrative burden.

When clinicians are empowered with the right tools, organizational success and improved outcomes naturally follow—particularly when leveraging AI to safely automate routine, low-risk administrative tasks, such as addressing common patient inquiries and streamlining billing processes.

Simply put, your technology should work (at least) as hard as your clinicians. At Altera, we want to enable our client organizations to deliver the best possible care, and through these improved innovations, we will work together to bring next-level healthcare within reach.
