Creating more value together: Collaboration, sharing and continuous optimisation
Digital transformation doesn’t stop at go-live. Some of the greatest opportunities come afterwards when organisations have the foundations in place and can begin to optimise, innovate and find new ways to deliver greater value for patients, clinicians and healthcare teams.
Across our client community, there is a wealth of experience, expertise and innovation. By bringing people together to share what works, learn from one another and openly discuss common challenges, we can help successful ideas travel further and support organisations as they continue to get more from their digital investments.
That spirit of collaboration was at the heart of our recent Client Executive Summit.
The power of sharing
The summit brought together leaders from across our client community to explore the priorities shaping the next phase of digital transformation. Discussions focused on how healthcare organisations can move beyond implementation and maximise the value of their digital investments to improve productivity, patient safety and user experience.
From AI and automation to usability, cyber resilience and optimisation, a clear theme emerged: implementation is only the beginning. The greatest value comes from continuously evolving digital systems to deliver better outcomes for patients, clinicians and organisations. The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration. By sharing experiences and best practice, organisations can learn from one another’s successes and challenges.

From digital transformation to continuous optimisation
A successful implementation is a significant achievement, but it is also a foundation. As clinical and operational needs evolve, technology needs to evolve with them. That might mean refining a workflow, introducing a new digital process, addressing a particular clinical challenge or redesigning an entire pathway.
We’re seeing great examples of this across our client community, and it is fantastic to see some of that work receiving wider recognition.
A number of our clients, working in partnership with us, have been shortlisted across multiple categories in the upcoming HTN Awards 2026.
Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for Most Promising Pilot for their work transforming outpatient care with the Sunrise Results Acknowledgement outpatient pilot, as well as Best Use of Digital for Improving Care Pathways for its digitally enabled approach to more efficient medication reconciliation.
Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for Major Project Go Live, recognising the successful implementation of the Altera EPR platform and the delivery of a clinically safe digital transformation programme.

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) have been shortlisted for Health Tech Solution of the Year and Best Solution for Clinicians for their work transforming the acute abdomen pathway. WWL’s digital referral redesign for Emergency Department mental health patients has also been shortlisted for Best Use of Digital and Data.
These projects span different stages of digital transformation—from implementing a major EPR platform to optimising established technology and redesigning specific clinical pathways. Each demonstrates what can happen when digital expertise, clinical insight and close collaboration come together around a real healthcare challenge.
Creating more value, together
For us at Altera, partnership means supporting clients beyond implementation, helping them optimise their digital environments, realise productivity gains and maximise value over time, while creating opportunities for organisations to connect, share experiences and learn from one another.
Our Client Executive Summit reinforced the value of bringing that community together. And the recognition our clients have received in the HTN Awards is a great demonstration of the innovation, expertise and commitment already present within it.
Congratulations to Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, and to all the teams involved in these projects.
We’re proud to support their work and look forward to continuing to share, learn and collaborate across our client community, helping great ideas go further and creating more value from digital transformation, together.
We wish all our finalists the very best of luck when the HTN Awards winners are announced on 7 October.
